In the era of advanced IT storage, processing, computation, and sensing technologies, Big Data has emerged as the new paradigm of our digital world. Recent breakthroughs have enabled computers to capture and analyze massive datasets from diverse domains — human behavior, information systems, connected devices, sensor networks, biological signals, financial markets, vehicular systems, astronomy, neuroscience, and beyond. Virtually every industry now confronts the challenges of Big Data, seeking to extract valuable insights that can drive innovation and solve complex problems.
This course provides essential knowledge and skills to prepare students for the Big Data landscape. As an inherently multidisciplinary field with rapidly evolving tools, algorithms, and frameworks, Big Data Analytics requires practitioners to stay current with emerging trends to develop cutting-edge solutions for real-world challenges.
Our course will be based on The Art of Analyzing Big Data- The Data Scientist's Toolbox course notes and for supplementary course notes, we will refer the EECS E6893: Big Data Analytics course from Columbia University in New York City.
